Lab note, checked 15 September 2026. PimEyes, FaceCheck.id, and Clearview AI are different databases with different forms. We filed three opt-outs on 2–4 September 2026. PimEyes acknowledged in 19 hours. FaceCheck.id took 6 days. Clearview’s privacy request sat in ‘received’ with no public SLA.

What these three services actually index
PimEyes is a face search engine aimed at the public web. You upload a face, it returns pages that appear to show that face. FaceCheck.id is a similar consumer search with a different index. Clearview AI sells face search to police and some commercial customers; you cannot ‘search yourself’ the way you can on PimEyes.
None of these vendors can delete the original photo from Instagram, a news site, or a data-broker scrape. An opt-out removes or suppresses the face from that vendor’s search. Mirrors and new crawls can put it back. Plan for a repeat pass every quarter.
PimEyes opt-out, as filed
Use the vendor’s own preference / search-exclusion form. They will ask you to prove you are the person in the photo. We used a selfie holding a handwritten date. Do not send a passport unless the form demands it. Record the ticket ID.
On 2 September 2026 our ticket was acknowledged in 19 hours. A week later the same probe face returned 2 of the original 11 URLs. Both were on sites PimEyes does not control. That is the honest remainder: the search engine can drop its copy of the match; it cannot unpublish someone else’s gallery.
- Search your own face on PimEyes and export the URL list.
- File the exclusion / preference request with a dated selfie, not a government ID unless required.
- Keep the ticket ID and a screenshot of the before-list.
- Re-run the same probe in 7 days and 30 days.
- For leftover URLs, send a takedown to the hosting site. That is a separate job.
FaceCheck.id and Clearview AI
FaceCheck.id has a removal request on the product site. Our 3 September 2026 filing confirmed after 6 days. We re-probed on day 8; the original test crop no longer returned. Clearview AI is not a consumer search box. Use their privacy request path. After 10 days we had only a receipt. If you are in a GDPR/UK GDPR jurisdiction, say so in the request and name the lawful basis you are invoking. US residents get a thinner statutory hook; the form still exists.
Do not paste your face into random ‘AI remover’ Chrome extensions. Those are a second leak. Stay on the vendor’s HTTPS form. If a helper service asks you to grant inbox access to ‘find every copy’, skip it unless that helper is a live, verified hop on this site. As of this check, Incogni and DeleteMe are not bound here, so this page has no automated-removal button.
What this playbook cannot do
It cannot empty Google Images, TikTok, or a closed Clearview customer cache on a police workstation. It cannot stop a person who already downloaded the photo. It can reduce casual face-search hits on the two consumer engines and put a dated request on file at Clearview.
If the photo is on your own account, delete or de-list it first. Opt-out without source deletion is a treadmill.

Should I pay a broker to do this?
Only if a verified first-party hop exists. None is bound on FoxyShield for Incogni or DeleteMe at publish time. The forms above are free.
Will this hide me from police face search?
No. Clearview customers keep their own copies. This is a consumer-index and request-file playbook.
Do I need a VPN to file the forms?
Not required. If you want a privacy hop for the rest of the session, use NordVPN.
Re-run the PimEyes probe on a calendar reminder. Opt-out is a maintenance job, not a one-time wipe.

PimEyes and FaceCheck.id drop search hits. They do not tell you if the same selfie is sitting in a broker CSV or a dark-web bundle next to an SSN. After you file the three opt-outs, the leftover job is watching whether that identity shows up in new steals. Cyber Suite is the live hop we already use on the FoxyShield scanner card: continuous surface scan plus dark-web mention checks. It is not a face-search eraser.
Run it after the opt-out receipts are in the password manager, not before. A scan that fires while you are still uploading a dated selfie to PimEyes just adds noise. One hop, one job: alerts on new mentions. If the dashboard wants inbox OAuth, decline it and use the vendor’s own form like the rest of this playbook.
